Sustainability in all fields of live is a global challenge and we're taking it up locally in our race. We strongly believe that we have the responsibility to set up our event responsibly and that we can function as a multiplier.

The idea and concept of 4vita was the logical continuation of our efforts in recent years. The program helps us to improve our sustainability in all fields and we keep on improving every year. And more and more we notice that this is not only realized but also highly appreciated- by athletes, spectators and our partners.

Former Ironman70.3 Monaco and now part of the TriStar Race Series crossing the various scenic spots at the beautiful Côte d'Azur.

The race in the 111km- Format on Sunday will see around 800 individual and relay athletes at the starting line at the Larvotto beach. The Star&Co village with around 40 stands for exhibitors will offer a rich selection of products and services to the athletes, family, friends and visitors.

The most exclusive TriStar race taking place in the Principality of Monaco has been one of the first events to implement 4vita back in 2008!

Since then the cooperation has been very fruitful and the event has made massive improvements to reduce the impact of the event on environment. The 4vita program was established very successfully and the message was spread all over the entire team and athletes racing here.

Monaco cutting-edge in sustainability

This passionate attitude for sustainability matches perfectly the vision of the Principality of Monaco! The Principality with Prince Albert II to spearhead has made protection of the environment a priority- in Monaco and all over the world. The Initiatives of "Monaco Development" and "Fondation Prince Albert II" may serve as well- proved examples.

TriStar commitment to environmental protection and health promotion

The TriStar philosophy is based on three main elements: fun, social responsibility and environment protection. Therefore the organizers decided to keep on working with the 4vita program to keep on setting up eco responsible solutions and activities. Also for the TriStar111 Monaco 4vita will cooperate with the local institutions mentioned above to maximize the positive impact by bringing in additional ressources and know how.

The format with its total 111km is supposed to favour recoverage and preserve the health- while still being a sportive challenge. Especially in Monaco with the hilly race courses the physical challenge is considerable and thus the organizers regard a quality health and preparation service for the athletes as their coherent responsibility. Therefore the organizers have agreed on a partnership with WTS that offer various services to the athletes and the public for free- for a sustainable event.

TriStar111 Monaco and 4vita: together for a sustainable event

The 4vita program supports the development and realization of sustainable sports solutions in all fields of the event (see activity planning) and is helping to implement a durable and responsible management approach all year long.

4vita at TriStar111 Monaco

TriStar111 Monaco and the 4vita Association are working closely together in order to make the Event sustainable. To achieve this objective the following actions and activities are undertaken:

Eco Action

Our major task is to preserve the inviolacy of the environment. Therefor we aim to leave the place the same way as we found it before the event.

Team information
- All staff members and volunteers are briefed carefully by the 4vita staff before the event how to act sustainable and to be able to transport the mission

Waste management
- The 4vita team organizes and coordinates all waste infrastructure and its labelling
- Together with our suppliers we are looking for solutions to reduce waste whereever we can
- Waste sorting is realized according to local regulations
- All waste- also along the race course- is collected and disposed to waste facilities. We recycle all waste that is recyclable

At all Energy Stations on BIKE and RUN we install Ecozones. All athletes will dispose all their waste at these Ecozones and nowhere else along the course. After the race we collect all waste of the Energy Stations and along the race course and bring it to waste collection facilities.

The 4vita team is cleaning up at the event venues around Star&Co, Start and Finish.

In cooperation with the "Fondation Prince Albert II" we will analyze the carbon footprint of the entire event and identify measures to reduce the impact further for the coming years

Health Action

4vita and the coaching company WTS join forces to promote health protection and sustainable lifestyle.

- At the WTS booth at Star&Co the athletes and the public can have a free test of physical fitness with the help of a coach from WTS. Also measurement of body composition (weight, height, body fat ...) and tone heart tests are offered.
- Athletes who had problems during the race or did not feel comfortable can have a free analysis after the race with a coach from WTS to understand the reasons and get recommendations
- 4vita and WTS will offer a common seminar during race week giving information and advices for healthy nutrition for athletes.

Energy Stations allocation, set up and products are planned carefully according to latest state of science. Our partner WTS has given extra expertise.

Communication

At the 4vita booth next to the Information Point all visitors of the Star&Co can get from Friday to Sunday information about a sustainable lifestyle and acting. The 4vita team will answer questions and inform about the different initiatives and activities.

The Eco responsibility campaign shall raise awareness through the athletes and all other visitors of the event. By wearing the 4vita eco responsibility sticker every athlete is welcomed to show he cares!

The 4vita road informs all visitors of the Star&Co village about the concept of protectin health and environment.
